Album, Shows, More!!
We’ve been pretty busy the last few weeks, so sorry for the lack of updates. Our first album is currently being mixed and mastered and we should have it available to all of you fine people by the middle of March. We played a rockin’ show this weekend at Union Station with Hydrogen Skyline, Until Chaos, The Ingrates and Young Dead. It was a blast, and we’re super excited to playing with Until Chaos again on March 23 in their hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Now that the album is done expect to see Hero Kid coming to a venue near you sometime in the near future. We’re getting ready to purchase a Ford Econoline and hit the road until the wheels fall off. We’ve added a couple new shows and will have many more coming so keep checking back!
Also, please check out our friend Damian’s podcast Mostly Harmless. This week he’s interviewing Brendan Kelly from the Lawrence arms, so give it a listen!
We had to cancel our Pueblo show because of the weather, sorry everybody! We’ll try again tomorrow with our show at the Black Sheep, hopefully the roads will be better.
This will be a pretty metal show. If it doesn’t get cancelled for snow!
New Show Alert!
Hey Everybody! We’re playing Saturday February 4th at the Black Sheep in Colorado Springs. We’re playing with From Slaves to Kings, so come check us out!
Sunshine Studios 01/21
We had a great show last night! All the bands were really great, we had a blast. The History of Hope and Righteous Vendetta are back on the road, and if they happen to swing by your town you should definitely go check them out.
The History of Hope!
Our friends Forsake It All
Hero Kid! Thanks to Vanessa for the photo.
Tomorrow we head back into the studio to finish up the guitar and bass parts, and hopefully Jake will wrap up the vocals by Thursday. We’ve got a break from shows until February 3rd, where we’re playing our very first show in Pueblo, CO. It should be a good time! Keep checking in for more studio updates, and we should be able to start posting some of our March tour dates soon. Thanks for all the support!
Studio Days 3 and 4
We’ve spent the last two days working on getting the guitar parts down, and they’re sounding pretty killer. Tyler laid down all the rhythm parts, so all we have left to do is go back and put in all the solos and flourishes and cool parts. Everything is sounding really tight, we really hope this record will knock people’s socks off. Tyler’s already got the lead parts down for 3 of the songs, and they sound pretty sick.
Some Van Halen style two hand tapping.
Tomorrow I’m laying down the bass tracks, then all we’ve got left to do is the vocals next week and we’re done with tracking!
Oh! I almost forgot! We’ve been so focused on knocking out the album we failed to mention the show we’re playing tomorrow in Colorado Springs. We’re playing with Forsake It All, Life Not Our Own and Restore all Vengeance from Colorado Springs and The History of Hope and Righteous Vendetta from Wyoming, at Sunshine Studios. We’ve still got a couple of tickets available for $7, otherwise it is $8 at the door. Show starts at 7pm, we hope to see you there!
Triple Nickel 01/14
The Triple Nickel Tavern is Colorado Springs preeminent punk rock bar. Owned by JJ Nobody(of The Nobodys and Drag The River) it is a pretty hip little space to play. And it was pretty packed last night.
Young Dead opened the show and they did a killer job. They play eclectic indie rock, and they should have some music up on the facebook here in the next week or so, so please check them out and “Like” them. They’ll be playing with us again February 25th at Union Station here in Colorado Springs, we’re all pretty excited about that.
We took the stage shortly after and commenced rocking out. We had a blast playing the small stage at the Nickel and got a lot of positive feedback from the folks who stuck around to watch us. We’re definitely looking forward to playing there again.
We’re playing again next Saturday at Sunshine Studios with a plethora of Metal bands, it will be a good time.
This show is actually free.
